This weekend, I had the opportunity to attend a birthday party at Little Buckeye Children’s Museum in Downtown Mansfield. In doing so, I was reminded how lucky our community is to have a gem like this right down the street.
My kids love playing with and exploring the different Little Buckeye exhibits. According to their website:
The Little Buckeye Children’s Museum celebrates self-directed play through creative, open-ended learning environments that engage kids and adults, spark imagination, and promote discovery.
The museum features two levels of exhibits, each with a different theme such as a school house, a theater, dentist office, bank, grocery store and more. As a parent, I marvel at the creativity and generosity of community donors that make this happen.
Each time I go, there always seems to be a new exhibit or one being built! This visit was not an exception. My children were delighted to discover the newest exhibit “The Little Ren. ” Designed to look similar to the Renaissance Theater, this exhibit is complete with theater seats, a stage, microphone,TV monitor, and a box office.
Of course, in full disclosure, I spend most of my time in the Train Room when we visit. With a 3 year old boy who loves all things Thomas the Train – this room is a hit!
Little Buckeye sells day passes for $7/person. (children ages 2+ and adults must buy a ticket) There are also memberships beginning at $100/year. In the comments, please share your experiences with Little Buckeye, I would love to hear them.
